COVID-19 Update:
Rebecca Glorie Psychologist 16 March 2020

Dear Valued Client,

Well, what a whirlwind of news, health directives and government guidelines that have happened over the past few weeks. Particularly over the weekend we have all been inundated with information about the Corona Virus and how we should be handling it. I don't know about you but I have been working hard to stay clam amid the stress and potential implications of this pandemic.

This blog post has 2 purposes;

1. To update you about my hygiene / cleaning standards & systems and processes which are in line with the changing guidelines laid out by the Department of Health.

2. To share some useful strategies which can help both adults and children cope with the stress or anxiety experienced as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.

1. Hygiene / Cleaning Standards & Systems & Processes

If you have travelled overseas in the last 14 days or been in contact with a confirmed or currently being tested case of Coronavirus and have ANY of these symptoms:

  • Fever

  • Cough

  • Sore Throat

  • Shortness of Breath

Then please DO NOT attend your appointment, please contact me on 0438 920 056 or enquiry@rebeccaglorie.com for rescheduling and further information. At least 48 hours notice is really appreciated.

For my clients on a Mental Health Care Plan, the Federal Government has announced a new Medicare service for people in home isolation or quarantine, as a result of coronavirus, to receive bulk-billed telehealth consultations and services.

For those not on a Mental Health Care Plan, otherwise known as private clients, I am also able to provide my services via video-conference or phone attendance if you are in home isolation or quarantine. These appointments will be charged the same rate as usual.

Otherwise it will be business as usual for face to face sessions!

Hygeine & Cleaning

All surfaces will be cleaned/sprayed with disinfectant at the beginning of the day, in between each client and at the end of each day. Hand Sanitiser will be made available and all clients must use some when entering the therapy room.

I will be doing my best to stay on top of current information and guidelines to help keep you all safe and well. In the meantime please refer to the Department of Health website so you can stay up-to-date with Government advice. Here’s the Isolation guidelines from the Australian Department of Health.

2. Coping Strategies For Children & Adults

The Australian Psychological Society has released a position paper regarding this. Please see my next blog post for more helpful information.

Thank you all so much for your patience and respect. Let’s all stay calm, support each other and get through this difficult time together.

Warmly,

Rebecca.
